Lip Augmentation

What is HA Dermal Fillers and What Ones Do We Use For Lip Augmentations?

At Pinnacle Peak Dental Care, you have a choice of using a wide variety of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Dermal Fillers. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is found naturally throughout your whole body and acts as a skin plumper. All HA Fillers are completely dissolvable, so in the unlikely event, you didn’t like the results, we can reverse them. As for what brands we use in the lips, we find Juvéderm Ultra XC, Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC, and Juvéderm Volbella XC look the best. However, the differences between them are minimal and the results are almost entirely depended on the injectors skill level. We will recommend a filler based on your individual needs but ultimately the choice is all yours!

How Long Will The Results Last?

Lip fillers naturally dissolve within 6-12 months. This is largely depended on the age of the patient, their metabolism, the amount of exercise they do regularly, and the normal blood flow to the face. For example, someone who is young with a fast metabolism and more blood flow to the face will most likely burn through filler quicker than someone who is older. Filler placed in other areas of the face tends to last longer due to the fact that they are not as mobile as the lips. Think about how much we talk every day!

What Are The Risks?

Lip fillers have become so popular it’s easy to forget they are a serious procedure. Our injectors Dr. Jordyn Hollingsworth, D.M.D. and Dr. Taylor Funk, D.M.D. are certified in the US and maintain the highest credentials in their field. Risks with lip injections are always present and you should be aware of them. Risk of bruising and swelling is common and should be expected/prepared for. These symptoms are usually mild and typically last a few days.

Is There Any Downtime?

Lip injections often cause swelling lasting about 48 hours. While we do everything to minimize the chance of bruising, it can happen and should be expected/prepared for. Again, everyone’s downtimes are different, but there are a couple of things you can do to help the healing process.
